Water tray

Sadly we are in the middle of a water shortage here so it meant we couldn't get our giant paddling pool out during the heatwave we have been having.
This meant we had to improvise! I filled the Tuff spot tray with water which made the perfect little water tray for the girls to play in. The perfect alternative!

Even better if you put the slide into the tray too!
A friend used this idea for her children too and found the tray held just the right amount of water for her baby to sit and splash about in.

Birthday's

May is a very busy month for us with Birthdays!
This year my youngest turned 2! (where did those years go!?)
I like to (attempt) to make the girls birthday cakes so they hunt began for the ideal cake.  She is heavily into Peppa Pig so we decided a Peppa Pig cake it was.
Im quite pleased with how it turned out and she loved it which was the main thing. :)
I also made a second smaller one for the party she had with some of her little toddler friends. Wasn't so pleased with that one but it was abit of a rush!

Easter

Easter was abit of a mixed bag weather wise here this year. On the Good friday we met up with some family for a trip to a local National Trust house. It was a gloriously sunny day which made the Easter egg hunt they had laid on even more fun. The children had to follow clues around the large gardens and collect coloured eggs. At the end of the hunt they could exchange their eggs for a chocolate one. Great fun!
It was lovely for the cousins to spent some quality time together and also meant I could brush up on my photography skills by photographing some of the beautiful blooms there.

The National trust have quite a few different events for children during the year so do check them out.

At home over Easter we held our own Easter egg hunt. Sadly this time indoors as the weather had taken a turn for the worse. The children enjoyed their overnight visit from the easter Bunny and enjoyed findig all the eggs he had hidden around the house!

Hair Habit!

Well since my last post (which was quite a while ago!) ive been working on some new hair do's for the girls.
Im very pleased to say that after much practice ive finally conquered french plaits! I followed some videos on you tube which explained it much better than trying to read written instructions.
I love the girls hair in french plaits and its another one to add to my list to learn how to do on myself.

A waterfall braid.                                                                         A twisted plait

A french plait! - Finally!

On the note of hair, A friend commented on wanting something to display her hair clips/ bands etc on but hadn't found anything suitable that she liked. I had just the image in my mind so donned my creative hat  and produced something for her. She loved it so much she asked for another one for her other daughter.
